Born in Colombo, Sri Lanka, Umaria grew up surrounded by music and began performing from a young age. Coming from a musical family, she developed a deep connection to performance, vocal expression, and artistry early in life. Her journey as a performer began publicly when she was still a child, and over the years, she has grown into one of the most respected female voices in Sri Lankan music. Since then, she has continued to build a career defined by vocal excellence, genre-blending music, and memorable live performances. Her hit single “Manda Pama” became one of the defining songs of her modern career, gaining widespread popularity and earning major recognition, including Song of the Year at the SLIM-Nielsen People’s Awards.
