Julia Kate

I’m Julia Kate, a 21-year-old singer-songwriter from Los Angeles (yes, I’m a valley girl and no apologies). I write songs in real time about the moments you don’t fully understand until you’re already in them. Relationships, identity, and everything in between. I’m currently studying Songwriting and Music Business at Berklee College of Music, but most of my songs start in my bedroom, usually from something I didn’t know how to say out loud yet. I grew up inspired by artists like Taylor Swift, Lorde, Billie Eilish, and Lana Del Rey, but what I connect to most are songs that feel honest enough to sit with. The kind you go back to when you’re trying to figure something out. Over the past few years, I’ve been quietly documenting my own experiences through music. Songs like “i wish i knew (one more kiss)” found their way to listeners through Spotify Radio, while newer releases like “that guy” and “truce” reflect a more personal and unfiltered side of my writing. When I’m home from school, I play shows around Los Angeles at venues like The Troubadour, The Whisky a Go-Go, The Hotel Café, and The Mint. Often with a full band, sometimes more stripped back.
