Julia Kate

Julia Kate makes pop music for the girls who want to dance, cry, and relate to. The valley-girl singer-songwriter turns romance, friendship, heartbreak, grief, nights out, and the chaos of growing up into emotionally honest pop music with catchy hooks. She perceives music as therapy and uses songwriting as her escape, as if she is singing from her journal. Julia is currently studying Songwriting and Music Business at Berklee College of Music. She draws inspiration from Taylor Swift, Lorde, Olivia Rodrigo, Lana Del Rey, Billie Eilish, and Sabrina Carpenter. Her musical theater background has also shaped her expressive vocal style, while her unique sound blends electronic pop, pop-rock and acoustic ballads, all with a strong focus on storytelling. After releasing her debut EP ‘just a kid’ in 2022 and a second EP, ‘yearbook,’ in 2023, she has released a steady stream of singles since. Julia Kate has performed at popular LA venues including The Troubadour, Whisky a Go-Go, Hotel Café, and The Mint. Now, she’s entering a new era with a new EP in the works, collaborations with other Berklee musicians, and a new single,“Broken Machine.” This marks a turning point in Julia Kate's journey toward finding her signature sound. She creates music people can see themselves in, scream to in the car, dance to, cry to, and want to come back and listen to again and again when they need to feel something.
