Biography & Metadata
Not many rappers have performed at enormous venues, punk rock dive bars, and Marxist book stores - introducing: Ghais Guevara. Born and raised in North Philly amidst guns and gang avoidance tactics though nurtured and educated using generational radical Black thought, Ghais Guevara revels in the juxtapositions and narrative conflicts of his life with standout projects such as There Will Be No Super-Slave and Goyard Ibn Said. Both of which received critical and cultural recognition from the likes of Vice, NPR, The Needle Drop and beyond for their compelling lyrical navigations soundtracked by this one-man band's beat-making ability. His newest EP “Cantos of Ghais” sees him once again emulsifying his fixations into a stream of consciousness that is sure to shift the listener’s existential perspective. With electrifying instrumentals from Playa Haze and 2Zenith. Audiences are encouraged to parse the lyricism beyond the, quite frankly, absurd palette of influences that adorn his aesthetic “Goyard Ibn Said” character.
