Kuda

Brendan Kudakwashe, aka Kuda, is a Melbourne-based producer of Zambian and Zimbabwean heritage whose sound blends Afrobeats, Gqom, hip-hop, R&B, and electronic music. Influenced by Metro Boomin, Benny Blanco, and Calvin Harris, Kuda’s music is known for its smooth, genre-blurring style that bridges global sounds with personal and cultural depth. Starting out in his teens, Kuda moved to Sydney to work with artists like ONEFOUR, Bally Boy, Sydney Yungins, and Nardean. Returning to Melbourne, he became a catalyst in the local scene, fostering cross-genre collaborations. In 2022, he teamed up with Reyanna Maria and Bliss, and helped shape the sound of rising artist Jverse as his main producer. Kuda went global in 2023, attending the JBL x Martin Garrix Creator Camp in Amsterdam and later APRA’s SongHubs Beat Camp in New Zealand, collaborating with artists worldwide. In 2025, a viral TikTok video of Kuda discussing Australia’s tall poppy syndrome struck a chord, sparking a wave of artist collaborations. His message of creative unity continues to drive a new wave of openness and artistic synergy across the country.
