Orchestra Baobab

Born in Dakar in 1970, Orchestra Baobab is one of Africa’s most influential and enduring musical institutions. Blending Afro-Cuban rhythms, Senegalese traditions, Wolof and Mandinka melodies, the band created a sound that transcended borders and generations. More than five decades after its formation, Orchestra Baobab continues to perform on some of the world’s most prestigious stages, bringing the spirit of Dakar to audiences across Europe, Africa, the Americas and beyond. Today, the band enters a new chapter with Made In Senegal, a forthcoming album scheduled for release in October, celebrating its roots while looking firmly toward the future. Timeless yet constantly evolving, Orchestra Baobab remains one of the great ambassadors of African music worldwide.
