Dumomi the Jig

A Nigerian artist based in the UK, creating music from the space between home and distance. His sound carries the warmth of Afrobeats and the perspective of diaspora life familiar rhythms told through a wider lens. An all-rounded creative, he sings, raps, writes, produces and mixes his own records, treating every song as both craft and confession. Primarily rooted in Afrobeats but never confined by it, his music blends melody, spoken word energy and subtle rap cadences. One moment spiritual, the next playful, he moves naturally between vulnerability and groove. In 2025, his voice began to travel far beyond borders when he was invited to serve as a voting member of the Recording Academy. On May 1st, 2026, he releases his debut album PARALLAX a body of work that explores perspective, duality, faith, identity, and the distance between who we are and who we’re becoming. The album bends genres effortlessly, weaving alternative Afrobeats textures with spiritual undertones and cinematic soundscapes. To shape this sonic universe, he collaborates with Ice Prince, Ria Sean, Pcee, TAR1Q and Muffeen. Also with acclaimed producers Krazytunez, GospelOnDeBeatz, and Black Culture, Seven each bringing distinct energy while allowing Dumomi’s storytelling to remain the center of gravity.
