Elektra Women's Choir

Vancouver’s Elektra has been a groundbreaking ensemble since its founding as a women’s choir in 1987. In 2024, Elektra expanded its embrace to welcome all adult treble voices, celebrating a diverse and gender-inclusive community of singers. Elektra is known for its brilliant programming, multidisciplinary initiatives, and spellbinding performances under the direction of co-founder and Artistic Director Morna Edmundson. The choir’s collaborative artist is the outstanding pianist and composer Dr. Stephen Smith. As a champion of Canadian composers, Elektra has commissioned and premiered 100+ Canadian works over the past three decades and actively seeks out new or unknown repertoire for adult treble voices. The choir’s extensive discography is available on all major streaming platforms, while its active YouTube channel hosts individual videos and innovative full-length concert experiences.
