Amel Amaru

Amel Amaru is a rising producer from Bogotá, Colombia. His sound is characterized by a strong influence of dance music, specially House, Uk Garage and Trance, among others. The result is a mixture of motifs and structures common to House music and the sonic texture that we might find in other expressions of dance music. He’s interested in creating eclectic sounds, for which he also draws influence from hip-hop, rock, metal and even traditional latinamerican protest music, all genres very important to Bogotá’s music history. Eclecticism is not just an interest, it’s a tool through which he seeks to portray the experience of living in Bogotá, and the sounds and dynamics from this unique city. In 2023 he co-founded O.T.R.O. Discos, a record label dedicated to latinamerican dance music. He features on the labels first release, a Various Artist.
