Valeska and the River

Valeska and the River is Valeska Rautenberg’s instrumental musical playground. "The piano became my voice when words failed me.
Through this exquisite instrument, I found a way to express emotions that lyrics and singing couldn't quite capture. Composing instrumental music has been liberating—allowing me to speak purely through sound, without relying on my voice. I’ve always been drawn to the grandeur of epic soundtracks and the quiet intimacy of minimalist piano pieces. And so, in 2023, I introduced Valeska and the River as the new home for my instrumental work. I’m deeply honored that five of my pieces have been selected by Nils Frahm for his esteemed Piano Day playlists—a recognition that fills me with immense gratitude. While my vocal music—living in the worlds of alt pop, indie and electronica—can be found under my name Valeska Rautenberg , Valeska and the River is a space entirely devoted to my love of instrumental music: neoclassical, cinematic, and ambient. No AI here - all human made! It’s my little love story with the piano.
And like a river, it just flows. I hope you enjoy it. Warm wishes from Berlin, Valeska Rautenberg aka Valeska and the River" www.valeskarautenberg.com
