Biography & Metadata

Snake City is a Stockholm-based duo producing heartfelt, soul-influenced pop music with a twist. Both artists started their musical paths at an early age. Growing up they engaged in pop groups as well as rock bands, respectively. While one of them went on to choir school, the other attended high school with music as a major. In recent years they found common ground in their love for, and shared taste in, music and naturally came together as Snake City. Today they produce music full time and thrive from living this dream. The creative process of this mysterious duo often starts with the singer hatching an idea. She writes all the melodies and lyrics, while the producer creates the cool beats around it using a variety of fun gear, such as an Akai MPC Live and a drum machine. Inspiration stems from alternative pop music as well as everyday life and beautiful things such as food, friends, sad movies and… Snakes! The various moods of the songs depend on the artists’ day-to-day states of mind - sometimes sad and low-key, sometimes happy and upbeat. Regardless of the mood, they all come with a beat that makes you wanna dance.
