Matti Roots

Matti Roots aka Matthew Goodman was raised on music, starting piano at just aged 3. Releasing his first record aged 18 as part of the group Crazybaldheads , the track 'Firstborn' became an instant classic in the UK garage scene. Matti then went on to work with a number of UK urban acts like So Solid Crew, Ms. Dynamite , Wiley as well as remixing for Justin Timberlake , Natasha Bedingfield and Slum Village . In 2008 Matti Roots was brought into the world and his soul , jazz, rnb hybrid alter ego was born. His debut release Beatroot gained critical acclaim with support from BBC Radio 1 xtra, Radio 2, Radio 6, Jazz FM and DRS 1 Switzerland, MOBO and countless more. The album featured contributions from Susaye Greene and some of the UK's finest session players including Leon King (Amy Winehouse) Vula (Basement Jaxx) and Ben Jones . In 2015, Matti teamed up with Jaguar Skills and Chords to release a rework of the 80's funk fuelled gem 'Lust' released on RAM Records. In around 2016 , Matti joined up with Audio Network to re release Beatroot . This led to the lead track Let's Get Back Together finding its way onto Spotify's Global Viral Chart and featured on the coveted All Funked Up playlist. As a sought after producer and writer (as well as label owner (Otherway Records) and manager!) Matti hopes to set some time aside this year to create his 2nd album. Be sure to stay tuned for more!
