Biography & Metadata

Tomás Novoa is a Chilean composer and musician based in Barcelona, exploring new musical forms through dreamlike narratives and emotionally driven sound. After a break from club-oriented music to explore new musical languages and aesthetics, Novoa returns to the original direction of this project from a new perspective. His latest release, “Kira” and “Mila” on Anjunadeep’s Explorations, marks this return, combining melodic techno with melancholic, sensitive and danceable emotional states, exploring trance and contemplation. His work has been presented internationally across club, audiovisual and experimental contexts. “Esfera” (2023) was presented as an installation at Bright Pulse in Leipzig and later adapted for MUTEK México’s Nocturne 360. In 2024, he composed and performed an eight-channel work for “Nanacatepec”, presented at the Berlinale, and participated in Alud Festival in Barcelona. In 2025, his work was presented at GAM in Santiago, and he was artist-in-residence at Baltic Analog Lab in Riga, developing new material through analog synthesis and studio experimentation. His work has also been presented at WORM in Rotterdam, Proyector Festival in Madrid and In-Edit at CCCB in Barcelona. Novoa holds Master’s degrees in Music Composition with Technologies from ESMUC and Sound Art from the University of Barcelona, as well as a degree in Civil Engineering from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile.
