Yadima

Yadima Alexis Uloaku Ugwuala was born in what would be considered Black Hollywood, the beautiful city of Atlanta. She was born to Nigerian Immigrants that came here with dreams to give themselves and their offsprings the best of the western world but Yadima had dreams of her own. At the age of 3 she started singing and letting everyone know that she was going to be a singer. She looked up to artist such as Beyonce, Monica , Lauryn Hill , Stevie Wonder and later on K. Michelle. Yadima was able to experience the best of 2 cultures. Her parents took her and her siblings to Nigeria to get a taste of where they were from and later brought them back. She never lost sight of her dream. While in school she would often sing at any and every events. She later on went to Arizona State University and got a degree in Justice studies to fulfill her parents desires. The day after graduation she went on a plane to fulfill her own desires. She started of doing RnB,which led to songs such as “LMLH”. She would later on want to fuse both Afro and RnB, which she refers to as AfroRnB. This genre allowed her to feel comfortable with her two cultures. With this genre she was able to create songs such as “into you” , “Nke’m” and “Bad”. She has also been given the opportunity to open up for the African Giant, Burma Boy twice , Olamide, Afro B, Rakeedo , and Pretty Ricky.
