Batu Akdeniz stands as one of the leading names of Turkey’s new-generation rock scene, building a loyal audience with songs like “Eksik,” “Yanlış Biriyle Doğru Hikaye,” “Artık Bi’ Manyağın Var,” “Ona Gitme,” “Bi’ Kız Var,” and “Hareket Vakti.” At a time when rock music in Turkiye often blends with arabesque and alternative pop, Akdeniz leans into a more classic, Western-rooted sound driven by powerful vocals, sharp guitar tones, and an organic band feel. His influences range from Myles Kennedy and Chris Cornell to Paul Rodgers and Yavuz Çetin. His music moves between melancholic love stories and themes of resilience, injustice, and chasing dreams. He has surpassed 100 million streams on Spotify and toured extensively across Turkey, while also performing in the UK, including London’s legendary Hammersmith Apollo. Akdeniz has collaborated with artists such as Pamela, Sena Gül, Canozan, and Egemen Akkol, and recorded two English songs with Simon Kirke of Bad Company and Free, a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee. The first release, “The Reason,” arrived in 2024. He is currently working on new material in both Turkish and English.
