Biography & Metadata

Founded on August 17, 2010, in Kulon Progo, Yogyakarta, KARNAMEREKA marks 15 years of resilience with the reunion of its original formation: Heroherda, Rolan Putut Wijaya, and Candra. The name was born from their daily hangouts, meaning "because of them." This comeback restores the raw, urakan energy of their early days, now refined into a high caliber musical force ready to dominate the stage once again. With a catalog of over 70 tracks, KARNAMEREKA is one of the most prolific entities in Indonesian Pop Punk. Their legacy began with Tante Kesepian and the viral Cerita Malam, while Semoga Langgeng dan Bahagia remains the essential crowd-closing ritual. The band sound has evolved from the pop melodies of Holahope and the complexity of 73 to the ultimate maturity in their fourth album, Fortune. The collaboration with Ndarboy Genk on Sikep proves that music knows no borders, bridging Pop Punk with Javanese Pop. Moving forward, Karnamereka aims to simplify their sound, embracing a deeper kedaerahan energy and local identity. Visually, the band has entered the Purple era, a Cyberpunk concept symbolized by the Bunny Fortune icon that blends futuristic grit with the dark reality of the streets. This journey belongs to the community. We move forward fueled by nostalgia but looking straight into the future. All hail big family Kawan KARNAMEREKA!
