Biography & Metadata
Passionate vocals and songs highly influenced by Soul, Rock and Gospel music. Abril first steps were at the age of 16. Flirting with R&B music, doing backing vocals for various rap bands and participating in singing and songwriting contests. Her professional experience began with Minerva (co-founder, songwriter and lead singer), with whom she had the opportunity to step on both small and big stages, even opening the act for Eric Burdon & The Animals in the 'Festival Internacional de Música de Cadaqués'. During that time she was also part of the acclaimed The Gospel Viu Choir as one of their soloist singers. In 2017 she left everything and moved to London, where she learned more about songwriting and could perform in many alternative London clubs. She also started working with the producer Jake Geddes to find her sound, with influences that go from Lauryn Hill to Radiohead. Together, they made many songs, some of which were later on recorded and produced by Linda Buratto (Boom). Her music is introspective and emotive. In her lyrics and production, you can find influences ranging from gospel music to grunge. In that contradiction also belongs her new single ‘Water & Fire’, her most intimate song to the date where, as if in a conversation with herself, Abril tries to decipher who she is and what she is made of.
