Lil Wright

Lil Wright is a Gold Coast, Australia based rapper blending gritty boom-bap, Memphis rap, and lo-fi hip-hop into a raw, unapologetic sound. Drawing influence from Terror Reid, Denzel Curry, and Westside Gunn, Lil Wright mixes hard hitting lyricism, dark production, and sharp storytelling to create music that hits with both energy and purpose. Since stepping onto the scene, Lil Wright has built a reputation through consistent live performances, including five After Dark shows in Milton (Brisbane), a Sound Afrik festival appearance, regular open mic performances, and an international show in Winnipeg, Canada, while staying independent. His music reflects the realities of Australia’s underground rap scene while paying homage to the classic sounds that inspired him. With the upcoming project Wright The Butcher, Lil Wright leans further into grimy boom-bap and underground aesthetics. Inspired by the styles of Westside Gunn and Terror Reid, the album is a bold statement aimed at challenging the current state of the Australian underground, calling out the culture’s flaws while pushing for authenticity, originality, and higher standards.
