Biography & Metadata

Lucas Marsand, singer-songwriter and known as the guitarist of Dada Ante Portas, has spent the past few months working on his third solo album. Together with his longtime friend and producer Andreas Ahlenius (Saybia, Loreen, Dada Ante Portas), he retreated to the mountains of Graubünden, Switzerland, where much of the material for the new album took shape. The production then took them to Sweden, Switzerland and Fuerteventura – different places and atmospheres, each leaving its mark on the upcoming album. Following “Shiny Light” and “Do You”, Lucas releases “Build a Castle”, the third single from the album – a warm, intimate song about love and building something together that is made to last. Some things don’t happen overnight. They grow slowly. A glance turns into trust, closeness becomes a home, and two people create a world of their own. “Build a Castle” captures that feeling. Stone by stone. Wall by wall. The song begins up close: a voice, an acoustic guitar, and hardly anything in between. Folky, warm and almost fragile. But little by little, the music opens up, guitars begin to soar, and something quiet grows into something much bigger. The castle isn’t a fairytale castle. It’s what two people create together. A place for their dreams. Something that offers warmth when the winds rise – and stands strong when the storm arrives. Perhaps that’s what love is: not a place you eventually find, already built. But a place you build together.
