Sonic Mandala

Philadelphia-born Kevin Colman, the creative force behind Sonic Mandala, has composed music for over 30 years. Influenced by 70s psychedelia and 80s classic rock, he shifted to electronic production in the 90s while studying at SUNY. His 1998 instrumental debut Unit 5 pioneered MP3 distribution. Today, Sonic Mandala blends looping improvisation, sampling, and DAW techniques with healing frequencies. Key releases include The Frequency of Life (2019), a head-to-body journey; Alone (2020), an instrumental exploring solitude and perseverance; and Balancing artistic expression and sync-licensable tracks, Colman continues evolving his sonic mandala. The 2025 release of Future Retro Electro fuses shimmering 80s-inspired synthwave with modern electronic experimentation, crafting bite-sized instrumental gems that pulse with nostalgia and forward momentum. We are expecting to hear a new piece of the Mandala in June 2026.
