Born in Amsterdam and raised in Purmerend, he was exposed to a diverse range of musical influences thanks to his parents' Surinamese heritage. Growing up with friends from the ABC islands, @MC MC also picked up some Papiamento language skills, which further enriched his musical palette. Inspired by his brother's rap group, MC MC later ventured into Dancehall/Reggae, attending events like Jamrock and immersing himself in the various riddims. With his outgoing personality, he made connections with people and organizations and eventually started out as a MC with his DJ nephew. While MC MC has worked extensively in the music industry, managing other artists and helping them to develop, he is now focused on his own music. Despite the challenges of the cutthroat industry, he is determined to make his mark with his lyrical flow and unique sound.
