Biography & Metadata
Altered View is the London-based duo of Johnny Area and Johnny Midnight, blending post-punk mood with analog electronics and a cinematic sense of space. Their sound, marked by airborne vocals, reverb-heavy guitars, vintage synths, and punchy drums, floats between shadowy introspection and rhythm-led propulsion. Their first two EPs, Taken From The Outer Realm EP (2023) and This Robot Society EP (2024), came out on Kilsha Music, marking them as a fresh voice in the UK underground: equal parts bleak romance and synthetic tension. In 2025, they joined Madd Rod’s Inner Shah Recordings with the single Secret Forest, a slow-burning track that sparked the collaboration with the Berlin-based label. It was followed by singles, taken from their debut album including: "Fast Paced Life" (with remixes by Man Power and Radondo), "Fruit From the Trees" (with remixes by Justin Robertson and Madd Rod), "Triumph" (first remixed by Clouzer and Mister Sweatband, later by James Welsh and Madd Rod), and finally "Mission for Love" (with a remix by NEIN Records label boss Tronik Youth). The 9-tracker LP "Midnight Area" (2026) is out now. Between smoke and signal, Altered View aren’t interested in genre comfort zones: they make music for late hours, dim lights, and rooms that feel just slightly out of time.
