Hip-Hop Music Artist from Costa Rica by the name of Bloke, producer, entrepreneur. "Slap!" Bloke yelled. And there was light. Since he published, in 2014, the song "A Cachete", with its respective video, it is common for people to stop the 30-year-old rapper to ask for a photograph or yell at him in the street: "A cachete!" The tattoos give him away and the charisma that he exudes is enough for the public to want to get closer. The video "A Cachete" accumulates more than 1 million reproductions and has thousands of comments – good and bad – from all over the country, from Mexico, from the Dominica Republic and all over the world... Everyone agrees that it is a guilty pleasure. He has an infectious rhythm, a genre that was born in his home and in which drugs, women and money are almost always discussed. The experiences that Bloke had had in Jacó weren't that different from many other neighborhoods and, therefore, his lyrics and his voice matched perfectly. His parents, a man from Athens and a woman from England, met on Jacó Beach and settled there. When Bloke –who in this part of the story is called Spencer– was four years old, they divorced, but both continue to live in Jacó. As an alternative to that life, Spencer decided to go to school, although he never fit in there. However, the school introduced him to the world of letters and it was there that he found "the gift of making music", as he calls it. BY CARLOS SOTO
