Alter The Cause

ALTER THE CAUSE is a Christian post-grunge hard rock project from Savannah, Georgia, built on grit, conviction, honesty, and redemption. Originally formed as a four-member band, the project later evolved into a solo creative vision led by Pepper Stevens while continuing to carry the emotional intensity that defined its foundation. Blending the raw force of early 2000s hard rock with the depth and atmosphere of classic influences, ALTER THE CAUSE delivers a sound driven by heavy guitars, commanding melodic vocals, and emotionally charged songwriting rooted in struggle, faith, resilience, and survival. Transparency has always been central to the project. Every lyric released under ALTER THE CAUSE is completely human, written by Pepper Stevens. Portions of the guitar work, arrangements, and creative direction are also human-created and personally overseen. All mixing and mastering are fully handcrafted to preserve the emotion and authenticity behind the music. Certain elements of the songwriting and production process utilize AI-assisted tools to help complete instrumentation and song development while keeping the heart and message grounded in human experience. Inspired by Godsmack, Seether, Staind, and Alice in Chains, ALTER THE CAUSE balances crushing riffs, haunting atmosphere, and unforgettable hooks with themes centered on redemption, truth, and perseverance. ALTER THE CAUSE is a reflection of survival, and the belief that even broken stories still deserve to be heard.
