Aya Nakamura

Aya Nakamura (née Aya Danioko in Bamako, Mali) is a multi-platinum, chart-topping French-Malian pop singer mixing Afrobeat & RnB sounds, known for the #1 hit single & global smash Djadja. Coming from a family of griots (West African storytellers & poets of oral tradition), she is the oldest of five siblings. Moving to France as a child she resided in Paris Northern suburbs. She later launched into music taking the name Nakamura, after the NBC Heroes series character Hiro Nakamura. In 2017 her debut album Journal Intime was propelled by her first Platinum hit Comportement. In Spring 2018 she drops the # 1 hit Djadja -certified Diamond- then conquering the charts in 36 other countries. In Nov. 2018 she releases new album NAKAMURA, charting 7 tracks in the TOP 10 single that week, prompting a second #1 single, Copines. She tops France 2018 year-end records as the most streamed female artist and achieving #1 Youtube video. In Feb 2019 she is nominee for Song of the Year & Best Urban Album at France Music Awards, heralding her 1st headline tour with an Olympia Paris sold out in less than 2 hours, then an 18-date sold out Arena tour.
