Biography & Metadata
Sledding With Tigers began as the solo project of Dan Faughnder in San Diego, eventually expanding into a full band with a rotating lineup and a fondness for acoustic instruments, group vocals, and arrangements that made their music feel scrappy yet... honestly that's basically it. Sledding With Tigers writes short, loud-hearted songs about self-loathing, body image, dead-end jobs, California freeways, and trying to be a decent person while your brain works against you. Their 2014 debut, A Necessary Bummer, turned awkward honesty into something worth yelling with strangers. A year later came Not the Beatles Yet, an accurate assessment of the band’s commercial position. Then they recorded Come On and Slam, a complete concept album about Space Jam, answering a question nobody else had the courage to ask. Sledding With Tigers operates on three basic principles: having a nice time is still cool, sincerity doesn’t need to be dignified, and every bad feeling sounds better with a banjo and group vocals.
