Biography & Metadata

UK-born, US-based singer-songwriter Jade Bird makes Folk and Americana entirely on her own terms. Her early promise was recognised quickly, pulling in awards such as the Reeperbahn Festival's ANCHOR Award, SXSW's Grulke Prize and the AIM Independent Music Award for International Breakthrough Artist. She was also a BBC Sound Of finalist, an Americana Honors & Awards nominee for Emerging Act of the Year, an MTV Push and Radio X "One to Watch." Her single "Lottery" topped Billboard's Adult Alternative Songs chart, putting her in rare company among female solo artists. Her self-titled debut album, produced by David Baron and Simone Felice of The Felice Brothers, topped the UK Americana Chart and reached the UK Top 10. Simone Felice also produced her debut EP, Something American. Her follow-up, Different Kinds of Light, was produced by Grammy winner Dave Cobb (Chris Stapleton, Brandi Carlile) at Nashville's RCA Studio A. Jade Bird built her North American following as Hozier's primary opening act on a major U.S. tour. She has also supported Brandi Carlile, Jason Isbell, Father John Misty, Young the Giant, Brent Cobb, Anderson East and Colter Wall. She has shared the stage with icons such as Sheryl Crow, Dolly Parton and recorded the duet "Feet Off the Ground" with Brent Cobb.
