KAITOは若干外ハネしたダークブルーの髪と、青いロングマフラーの衣装が特徴的な、男性バーチャル・シンガーです。 クリプトン・フューチャー・メディア株式会社が開発した、歌詞とメロディーを入力して誰でも歌を歌わせることができる「ソフトウェア」として、2006年2月17日に最初のソフトウェアが発売されました。男性歌唱のバーチャル・シンガー・ソフトウェアとしては、世界ではじめて日本語に対応しました。 大勢のクリエイターが「KAITO」を用いた作品を生み出したことで、「キャラクター」としても注目を集め、今ではバーチャル・シンガーとしてグッズ展開やライブを行うなど多方面で活躍するようになり、人気は世界に拡がっています。 KAITO is a male virtual singer whose trademarks are his dark blue hair and a long blue stole, the mascot of the software with the same name developed by Crypton Future Media. The KAITO software was released on February 17th 2006, the first male singing voice synthesizer capable of singing in Japanese. Shortly after the release of the software, fans and users started producing a massive amount of media featuring the character, and the popularity of these creations led to merchandise, live shows, and other projects.
