HERKUNFT is a Nordic folk music project based in the Rhine-Main area near Frankfurt, Germany. Since October 2021, HERKUNFT has been breathing life into the sounds of the past – inspired by Norse mythology, the Viking age, and ancient rituals. Rooted in Dark Ritual Folk, HERKUNFT blends archaic instruments, haunting soundscapes, and epic melodies into a unique sonic experience. Each track is a gateway to another world – raw, ritualistic, and atmospheric. HERKUNFT is more than music – it’s a sonic ritual where history, myth, and emotion merge into a powerful force. For those who don’t just listen to music, but feel it.
