Biography & Metadata

Since the early 2000s, DJ Zardonic has harnessed the power of the nexus between Drum & Bass and Heavy Metal to pioneer the sound that is now known as Metal & Bass, spending the better part of over two decades expanding it, weaponizing it, and exporting it to every corner of the planet that would have him and several that probably weren't ready. His work resembles that of a digital alchemist. When he dons his iconic mask, he becomes immersed in a process of decoding, disrupting and dismantling. His unapologetically visceral music is proof. Fusing two seemingly disparate yet undeniably kindred worlds, he’s been the architect of his own grid, refusing to follow commercial codes of comfort or correctness. While his craft doesn’t follow the mainstream tropes, his route has led to hundreds of releases, amassing nearly 200 million streams globally. Following his previous albums Vulgar Display Of Bass (2012), Antihero (2015), Become (2018) and Superstars (2023), DIGICIDE is his most ambitious, audacious, honest and forthright body of work so far, as it brings together everything he has always stood for and fought against. A sonic manifesto, conceptually it confronts and dissects the issues that affect us all; algorithmic domination, surveillance capitalism, and the erosion of human identity through online manipulation, indoctrination, misinformation, and polarisation. Some albums soundtrack the world as it is. DIGICIDE is a declaration of war on what it is becoming.
