Biography & Metadata

Mr. Mister is an American pop rock band whose polished sound and heartfelt songwriting defined a key era of 1980s music. Formed in 1982 in Phoenix, Arizona, the band consisted of Richard Page (vocals, bass), Steve George (keyboards), Steve Farris (guitar), and Pat Mastelotto (drums). With a blend of rock, synth-pop, and lush harmonies, Mr. Mister created anthems that captured the spirit of the decade. Their breakthrough came with the 1985 album Welcome to the Real World, which spawned two No. 1 Billboard hits: "Broken Wings" and "Kyrie." Both tracks showcased the band’s ability to marry introspective lyrics with soaring melodies, cementing their place in pop music history. The album also included fan favorites like "Is It Love," further solidifying their reputation for crafting emotionally resonant songs. Known for their studio precision and dynamic live performances, Mr. Mister was celebrated for their musicianship and thoughtful approach to songwriting. Although the band disbanded in 1990, their music continues to inspire new generations, with tracks like "Broken Wings" remaining timeless classics in the world of pop rock.
