Biography & Metadata
Rock icon Lita Ford began her trailblazing career in 1976 as the lead guitarist of The Runaways, the groundbreaking all-female rock band behind classics such as “Cherry Bomb”, “Wasted” and “Queens Of Noise”. Following the band's breakup in 1979, Ford embarked on a hugely successful solo career, establishing herself as one of the most influential women in hard rock and heavy metal. After releasing her debut solo album, “Out For Blood”, in 1983, Ford achieved international success with “Dancin' On The Edge” (1984) and her multi-platinum self-titled album, “Lita” (1988), featuring the iconic hits “Kiss Me Deadly” and “Close My Eyes Forever”, her celebrated duet with Ozzy Osbourne. Throughout her career, she has earned multiple Grammy nominations and numerous accolades, including the Guitar Player Lifetime Achievement Award, induction into the Guitar Player Hall of Fame and recognition as the First Lady Of Rock Guitar at the 2017 She Rocks Awards. Ford's influence extends far beyond music, with her songs featured in major films including “Captain Marvel”, while her 2016 memoir, “Living Like A Runaway”, became a national bestseller. Her iconic B.C. Rich Warlock guitar also became part of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame's permanent collection in 2021. Now more active than ever, Ford continues to tour extensively and has recently begun an exciting new chapter with “Dracula”, her debut single on Frontiers Music Srl.
