Biography & Metadata

Kayla Marque is an American singer-songwriter known for an introspective and ethereal sound that seamlessly blends elements of electro, soul, pop, and R&B. Growing up in a deeply creative Denver family, which includes her uncle Larry Dunn of Earth, Wind & Fire, her relationship with sound evolved from a lighthearted hobby into an essential outlet to process pain into beauty. Since launching to the forefront of the Denver music scene with her 2016 debut album Live and Die Like This, Marque has consistently explored new creative frontiers. Her discography features Brain Chemistry, a transcendent 2020 double album diving deep into themes of self-love, trauma, and mental health; her work co-founding the funky, genre-bending group The Grand Alliance; and 2024's Midheaven, a playful exploration of beauty, pleasure, and fantasy. Embracing a multidimensional role centered around music medicine, the philosophy that sound is a vital tool for healing and collective transformation, Marque expanded her reach into DJing, made her film acting debut in STATIC, and returned to school in August 2026 to pursue a degree in Music Therapy at Colorado State University. Following the release of singles like "Fever Dream" and "Roses," she continues to bridge the worlds of performance and healing, with even more new music on the horizon.
