Biography & Metadata

Paul Maddox burst onto the scene in 2001 with his remix of N Trance’s Set You Free, cutting his teeth in the production world as Tidy Trax’s wunderkind, engineering tunes for the biggest names in hard dance as well as making unforgettable productions of his own including “Tension” and “Reach Out” with singer Niki Mak. In 2004, Paul’s bootleg trance banger “Sunset” under his Azure moniker, got peak time Radio 1 play and was Judge Jules’s “Tune of the Year”. In 2006, Paul teamed up with Rich Wakley (of Filthy Rich fame) to create the techno project Spektre, which over the next 17 years has seen the pair travel the world, playing at the most coveted venues and events in the world including Fabric London, Space Ibiza, Exit Festival, Pacha Buenos Aires and Burning Man. However, with the 90s dance sound experiencing a resurgence in recent times, Paul is going back to his roots, with his recent solo output gaining the attention of a new generation of artists, including early support from HAAi, Matt Guy and more. Keep an eye out for more new music coming soon on Paul’s brand new underground label, Same Old Stories.
