Biography & Metadata

Federico Albanese is a genre-defying Italian musician, composer, multi-instrumentalist, and producer. His musical versatility is a natural gift that pushes him to explore music in all its facets. Federico's new album entitled "Blackbirds and the Sun of October" is coming on February 7, 2025, and it will be released by Sony's new innovative, cross-genres label imprint XXIM. Albanese's cinematic instrumental tracks, struck an instant chord for their airy, meditative beauty. Released in February 2014, his highly acclaimed debut solo album The Houseboat and the Moon has been described as “one of the most beautiful modern classical albums of the past years”. Albanese’s sophomore equally acclaimed album The Blue Hour saw the light of the day on January 15, 2016. Albanese’s third full-lenght By the Deep Sea was released on February 23rd, 2018. Albanese's 4th studio album Before And Now Seems Infinite was released on February 25, 2022 by Universal Music Group’s imprint Mercury KX, including collaboration with british artists Ghostpoet and Marika Hackman. Albanese is known internationally for his intense touring activity, that over the years lead him to perform hundreds of solo concerts and festivals across the world including Womad (UK), Montreux Jazz Festival (CH) and the Elbphilarmonie in Hamburg, touching countries such as Australia, Canada and Iran. In 2023, he scored director Sasha Nathwani's debut film "Last Swim", which won the Crystal Bear at the 74th Berlinale.
