Kinney

Kinney is a songwriter and artist who released her debut EP, 𝘚𝘰 𝘎𝘭𝘢𝘥 𝘠𝘰𝘶 𝘌𝘹𝘪𝘴𝘵 on August 31, 2020. This was her first EP or album release of her career, but she has released several successful singles and built a core fan base of followers through social media and her live shows. She’s had an amazingly eclectic career—she’s been a dancer most of her life and studied musical theater in college, but after moving to Los Angeles, she has pivoted toward songwriting and performing her own music. She has since developed her talent for performing through countless live performances at clubs all over Los Angeles, as well as at less traditional venues such as yoga classes, festivals, and plant medicine ceremonies. 𝘚𝘰 𝘎𝘭𝘢𝘥 𝘠𝘰𝘶 𝘌𝘹𝘪𝘴𝘵 is a spiral, not a circle. It’s a love story of sorts, intertwined with the deja vu of an artistic awakening. The music itself is difficult to classify - it marries Kinney’s angelic voice, timeless songwriting, and acoustic guitar with unique, atmospheric production elements reminiscent of James Blake, Bon Iver, or Sylvan Esso. It blends worlds of folk, jazz, and pop with quirky electronic beats and atmospheric radiance. 𝘚𝘰 𝘎𝘭𝘢𝘥 𝘠𝘰𝘶 𝘌𝘹𝘪𝘴𝘵 serves as something to sit and contemplate with, that will hopefully spark personal reflection, growth, and expand our gratitude for the human experience.
