Njerae

Njerae is an award winning, performing singer-songwriter and record producer based in Nairobi, Kenya. She graces the streets of Afro-Indie, rnb and Afro pop, delivering a message that resonates to her fans through her music. Njerae derives her writing from past experiences and current affairs all around her. This aspect of her writing allows her to deliver powerful lyricism that gets fans glued to her music. This trailblazing songbird has been doing music since 2016, but only got her breakthrough through her tracks, “Aki Sioni” and “OTD”, released in 2022 & 2023 respectively. Njerae has steadily grown into a Kenyan household name, with her signing to Universal Music East Africa in late 2024 a marker to elevate her music to reach a global scale. In 2024, Njerae signed her first major recording deal with UMG East Africa and has become one of the most promising female artists in East Africa, topping charts with singles such as “Aki Sioni” and numerous others. She was also named among the 40 most influential Kenyans by Kenyans.co.ke in December after a high-flying year. In 2025, Njerae was named in Apple Music’s Africa Rising Class of 2025 , spotlighting her as one of the breakout stars to watch from East Africa gearing for international success. She followed the milestone by being selected as Spotify Africa’s Global EQUAL Ambassador for the month of June, marking a defining moment in her career. She became the most streamed Kenyan female act of 2025.
