Lydian Nadhaswaram

Lydian Nadhaswaram is a global music composer, multi-instrumentalist, pianist, drummer, singer, and producer from Chennai, India. He rose to international prominence after winning CBS’s The World’s Best in the USA and became the only Indian musician to perform on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Recognized as GQ Young Indian of the Year, recipient of the Sur Jyotsna National Music Award, and featured by Rolling Stone India among the “Future of Indian Music,” Lydian has been described by A.R. Rahman as a “Music Ambassador of India.” His work spans orchestral music, jazz, world music, and large-scale cultural projects. His jazz album Chromatic Grammatic showcased his contemporary musical voice, while Symphony No. 1: New Beginnings, recorded by the London Symphony Orchestra and conducted by Matt Dunkley, established him as the youngest Indian and Asian composer to compose and record an original symphony. Lydian is also the curator of the Chennai Drum Festival and the creator of The Thirukkural 1330, a landmark project setting all 1,330 Thirukkurals to music with artists from around the world.
