X-Rated 1994

X-Rated 1994 are a grunge and hard rock band from Verona, Italy, formed in 1994 and brought back to life by the original spirit that started everything. Born in the underground scene of the nineties, the band built its sound around distorted guitars, emotional vocals, heavy grooves and a dark melodic instinct. Each member came from a different musical world, from hard rock and metal to punk, pop and psychedelia, creating a sound that never tried to follow the Italian mainstream, but aimed instead for something rawer, deeper and more personal. Their songs are written in English and move through nightmares, inner visions, strange stories and emotional shadows. Rather than simply describing reality, X-Rated 1994 look beneath the surface, digging into fear, memory, desire, pain and hope. After three decades, the band reunited to bring their original material back into the present with new recordings, remixes and unreleased songs recovered from old rehearsal tapes. Guided by producer Andrew Kyo during the remastering process, the 30th anniversary project To Grow Dark is not just a return to the past, but a way to finish what began in 1994 with the sound, experience and awareness of today.
