Zanda Elwood doesn’t sit comfortably inside one genre — and he stopped trying to. The Melbourne artist moves between hip-hop, R&B, melodic rap, pop and alternative sounds, pairing sharp writing with melodies that can turn from vulnerable to reckless without warning. After years cutting his teeth in Australia’s underground scene — including stages alongside Tech N9ne, Obie Trice and Madchild — Zanda introduced a wider version of himself with his 22-track debut album Amongst Da Khaos. The record documented grief, survival, relationships, self-destruction and everything that happens when the noise outside gets quieter than the noise in your own head. But Zanda isn’t interested in making the same record twice. 2026 has seen him push further outside traditional hip-hop, from the melodic crossover of peachy to the four-track ROGUE EP — a sharper, more instinctive chapter built around experimentation, melody and refusing to be boxed in. Independent by design, Zanda’s music has always been personal. Not polished into somebody else’s idea of what an Australian artist should sound like. Not chasing whatever happens to be moving this week. Just life, translated into records.
