Velkro

Emerging from Botswana’s evolving soundscape, Velkro is a genre-fluid producer shaping the sonic identity of Southern Africa’s new wave. Despite only stepping into production in 2025, Velkro has quickly carved out a distinct presence, crafting immersive, hard-hitting soundscapes for rising artists across the region, including Fuego420, Carta Jones, Yvngthename, and Spyder Hatake. As the founder of Strange Sounds, Velkro is building more than just beats he’s cultivating a movement rooted in experimentation and identity. A longtime collaborator of The Arkitect, his work thrives at the intersection of unpredictability and precision, bending genres and making 808s feel alive. Describing himself as an enigma, Velkro approaches music like transformation itself constantly evolving, never confined. Like a butterfly in metamorphosis, his sound shifts, adapts, and redefines expectations with every release.
