Lava Hong

Lava Hong is a Los Angeles–based vocalist, topliner, songwriter, and composer working across electronic pop, cinematic pop, alternative music, trailers, and scoring. Her work is highly collaborative and multi-genre, built around expressive vocal performance, adaptable songwriting, and a strong understanding of how music supports story and visual worlds. Classically trained and raised between Western classical music and Chinese pop ballads, Lava brings an emotive, cinematic vocal style to each project. Her voice moves easily between intimate ambient textures, restrained emotional delivery, layered harmonies, powerful hooks, and large-scale trailer vocals. With more than one million global streams, Lava has built an international audience through independent releases and collaborations across electronic, cinematic, and alternative music. Her collaboration “Forget About Us” with No Mana and nuphory, released through Monstercat, brought her introspective songwriting and distinctive vocal presence into a high-energy electronic setting. Beyond artist releases, Lava works extensively across trailers, scoring, custom music, sync, and vocal collaborations for visual media. Her original composition work earned a 2024 Golden Trailer Award nomination, reflecting her ability to move between artist-led songwriting and music created for picture.
