OP:OP

Andrea Nunzio and Alessio Triolo AKA OP:OP became a duo during the winter of 2022. Coming from divergent musical experiences, this project brought them together. Andrea’s background, more than anything else, lies behind the thundering drums of punk/hardcore bands in-between the 90s and 2018. Alessio on the other hand started DJing at the early age of 13, in and around various local clubs. Both born in the sleepy province of Messina, Sicily, they met whilst mingling in clubs and after parties. They shared thoughts, Musical and technical experiences, finally finding themselves on the wave of a downtempo, hypnotic grooves with a slight ethnic tinge. Once the infatuation was clear, synths, percussion and drum machines took over the conversation! Sicilians with a strong European sense, both finding solace in the wild rhythms of the South American tradition. In 2022 they released the first self-produced EP “The Afternoons” Following that , in 2023 and then in 2025 they released two more EPs , “Boobam” and “Mundi” , in collaboration with the German label YNFND.
