Purnama

Hello world! My name is Purnama, and I am a Balinese-Swiss songwriter, visual artist & wisdom keeper. The music I write is often inspired by my ancestry, the wisdom of various cultures, and the beauty of our magnificent Mother Earth. Growing up, I never expected or saw myself becoming a musician. Although I've always had a deep love for music, and write songs & poems from since I can remember, I was greatly discouraged to pursue an artistic path. When the longing became too great to bear, I decided to go against all odds and to follow my heart's calling, which led me to where I am now. The songs I write usually serve as medicine for my own heart & soul when I needed them. But I do hope that by listening you feel more inspired, uplifted, or a little bit less alone in this crazy world we live in. Today, I perform solo or with my partner in our project Puente Pelangi in concerts & festivals, and hold ceremonies & sound journeys. I have the honor to collaborate with The Hanuman Project on many of their events & kirtans, as well as on songs with Abink & Ferry, Super Deluxe and Ras Muhamad. I see it as an immense blessing to be able to uplift spaces & inspire souls through the medicine of music. I currently reside in my ancestral home of Ubud, Bali, where most of my events happen.
