The Vacuous Heart

Singer songwriter Tobias Biedert startet The Vacuous Heart in 2010 as a solo project after playing rock music in various styles and formations for more than 20 years. Biedert fell in love with classic singer songwriters like Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel and Sting in the early 90s. While grunge ruled the world he continued playing punk rock but dived deeper into the country, folk and americana scene with artists like Mary Chapin Carpenter, Shawn Colvin and Dylan LeBlanc. With the nu-folk movement bringing up artists like Mumford & Sons or The Lumineers Biedert gained the confidence to write his own folky tunes. In 2012 Biedert together with producer Henning Pauly tried to get a band together which fell apart after a view rehearsals. But Pauly and Biedert had various recording sessions which resultet in the release of The Mountain in 2015. But without a band bringing the songs on stage Biedert endet up playing punk rock again. In 2025 he decided to release more tracks from the recording sessions with Pauly to celebrate the 10th aniversary of The Mountain with a couple of singles. The Vacuous Heart is still beating!
