Maco Oey

Maco Oey is a Finnish pop/rock musician with Indonesian and Ingrian heritage. He has worked actively in the Finnish music scene a projects such as Semmarit and with his own groups Maco ja Tuksa and Maco Band. His solo career began in 2011 with the release of the album "Pari suhdetta". The lead single from that album "Sokea piste" was one of the most played songs on the Finnish National Broadcaster YLE's Radio Suomi channel that year. The followup album "Osa sinua" was released in 2012 and also received airplay with two single releases. With his third solo effort "Tämä hetki" in 2014 Maco collaborated with notable world music influencers such as Sakari Kukko and Ismaila Sane and, again, received airplay on Radio Suomi with the lead single. 2015's album "P.S. Unohdetut salasanat" was a collaboration with Janne Saksa who has become a regular producer of Maco's albums, for example the 2020 children's music album "Siistii!". In addition to his pop/rock records Maco has also released Christmas music and a Studio Live (2020) release with his stalwarts Sakari Löytty (drums), Janne Saksa (guitar) and Sakari Tiikkaja (bass). Maco received a nomination at the 2021 Emma Awards for his album "Siistii!".
