Mariechan

Mariechan, a seasoned South African dime who hails from Cape Town, has been based in Johannesburg most of her music career. She was first introduced to the music industry in 2004 as 1/3 of the famous girl band ‘Jamali’ & was known for her unique vocal ability that became the engine for the group’s vocal strength in their 10+ year reign of success. Today, a solo artist, she released her first offering in 2018 that reintroduced her & set her apart from the rest. Dubbed one of the most diverse & cross over artists dabbling in a fusion of Afrobeats, RnB & Amapiano, her sound will undoubtedly resonate with the WORLD. The world’s lens has been on Africa & its hidden gems & this artist encompasses just that, rarity. The curated sounds reveal a sassy, sexy, vulnerable, bold, sophisticated yet edgy twist that take us through her different moods. Mariechan’s new single ‘Stella’, short for the slang ‘Stellar’ relating to qualities of a star or praise for wonderful/outstanding/cool, is a BANGER of note! What she did on this track highlights the clever fusion of sounds, her incredible tone & vocal flare that’s simply “Stellar”.
