Biography & Metadata

Industrial Britrock crafted on the stormy shores of the river Mersey. The Kowloons are carving their own place in the rich lineage of British guitar music. Retrospective but forward thinking is the approach. No compromises, no distractions, just an unwavering devotion to the art. Universal truths are distilled into melodies that offer a warm dose of nostalgia. Taking lyrical inspiration from day to day conversations, films and literature - The Kowloons have built a discography that feels vintage but cutting edge simultaneously. Identical twins Stephen and Anthony Ng have have spent a lifetime seeing the world through the same lens, their songwriting partnership forged through years of quiet graft and guided by the belief that every great song must be earned. Mason Jones completes the picture, bringing dynamic and expressive lead guitar work that emits colourful psychedelia. Between sold-out hometown shows, festival stages and life on the road, the band's creative momentum never halted, these new ideas crystallised into ‘Backwards Walking’. Both a title and a philosophy, the new EP embraces the bands belief that they must look backwards to move forwards. Drawing from records that have stood the test of time, The Kowloons continue to push their creative boundaries and command new sonic territories.
