Sweatson Klank—formerly known as TAKE—emerged from the early days of Los Angeles’ beat scene, helping shape a movement that would ripple far beyond the city. As part of a forward-thinking generation of producers, his Sketchbook nights laid the foundation for the now-legendary Low End Theory, a proving ground for boundary-pushing sound. A multi-instrumentalist with a deeply intuitive approach, Sweatson Klank creates music that resists definition. His productions slip between hiphop, house, ambient, and electronic. Raw yet refined, and impossible to pin down—he operates in the space between genres, where feeling leads and form follows. Sweatson Klank has worked with influential labels such as Warp, Ghostly, Dublab, Friends of Friends, Project Mooncircle, Poobah, and Alpha Pup—each release adding to a body of work that is as diverse as it is deeply personal. Supported by tastemakers at BBC Radio, NTS, Rinse FM, XFM, and KCRW, he has shared stages with artists like Flying Lotus, TOKiMONSTA, Little Dragon, Shlohmo, Ras G, Daedelus, Hudson Mohawke, and many more, while reworking tracks for Flying Lotus, Nosaj Thing, Shigeto, Warpaint, and CULTS. His music has also found a natural home in film, television, and advertising—further extending its reach beyond the traditional listening space.
