Biography & Metadata

Proteus (real name Harri Vilkas Andersson) is one of Finland’s most iconic and respected figures in electronic music. Over the course of a groundbreaking 27-year career, he earned a reputation as a visionary DJ and producer whose high-octane performances redefined the boundaries of the underground scene. His legendary farewell show at Helsinki’s Cable Factory in December 2022 marked the end of an era — a sold-out celebration of a career that left an indelible mark on electronic music culture. Known for his explosive energy and uncompromising intensity behind the decks, Proteus gained a cult following around the world. His performances were so fierce that he’s said to hold the unofficial record for the most bones broken on stage — a testament to his total physical commitment to the music. Internationally acclaimed, Proteus was voted twice into the prestigious DJ Mag Top 100 and named World’s Best Hard Dance DJ at the UK’s Hard Dance Awards in both 2004 and 2005. Now, three years after ending his career, Proteus will release a brand-new album in December 2025.
